Normandy Village School is delighted to announce the official opening of its brand-new Reception building, a milestone event marked by a special ceremony attended by Al Pinkerton MP. The Member of Parliament was warmly welcomed and taken on a guided tour of the school by two enthusiastic Year 6 students, showcasing the spirit and pride of the school community.
The purpose-built space will serve as an additional classroom and is equipped with modern resources designed to foster a dynamic and interactive learning environment. New features include an all-weather outdoor area, a dedicated Phonics room and a new entrance, bringing Reception children back into the heart of the school community.
Headteacher, Jonny Franks, commented, “We are thrilled to receive the keys to our brand-new Reception building, which is eagerly anticipating welcoming its first ever class in September 2025. This fantastic new space will provide our youngest learners with the very best facilities to support their first steps in education.”
The opening of the new building comes as Normandy Village School celebrates its first anniversary as part of the South Farnham Educational Trust (SFET), having joined the Trust on July 1st, 2024. Over the past year, the school has embraced significant changes, including new systems, processes and infrastructure improvements, all implemented in a remarkably short period of time.
“The staff and children have taken every opportunity on with enthusiasm and I couldn’t be prouder of what they have achieved,” Headteacher Mr Franks added.
The grand opening event was a memorable occasion for the entire school community, symbolising both the progress made and the exciting future ahead for Normandy Village School.
