South Farnham School named Highly Commended Primary School of the Year 2026
South Farnham Educational Trust is delighted to announce that South Farnham School has been named Highly Commended Primary School of the Year 2026. In addition, the school has been recognised as the second top primary school in the South East and ninth nationally in the 2026 Parent Power Awards.
This outstanding recognition reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment of the entire school community. With a strong focus on providing an ambitious and inclusive curriculum, South Farnham School ensures that every child is supported to thrive, achieve and enjoy their learning.

Speaking on Radio Surrey, Headteacher Esther Franks said, "this achievement is a testament to everyone in the school community, including pupils, staff and governors, whose collective efforts make the school so special". Acting Headteacher William Wallace added, "the recognition highlights the school’s commitment to delivering an exceptional education within a nurturing, supportive environment and that while such achievements are wonderful, it is the day-to-day experiences in sport, music, performance and art that truly define school life".
Pupils also shared what they love most about South Farnham, including opportunities in performing arts, sport, music and trips, as well as the sense of fun and togetherness at events such as school productions and Christmas celebrations including the annual school Christmas conga. Many spoke about how these experiences help them to build confidence, form strong friendships and develop a love of learning that extends across every part of school life.

Parent Power, published annually by The Sunday Times, features the top 1,000 primary schools in England, based on the most recent Key Stage 2 results, and celebrates schools that excel academically and in their wider educational offer. South Farnham Educational Trust is incredibly proud of everyone at South Farnham School for this exceptional achievement.
