South Farnham School Appointed Lead School for Surrey Music Hub

South Farnham School is proud to announce it has been appointed as a Lead School by Surrey Arts, marking a significant milestone in the school’s ongoing commitment to musical excellence. This prestigious role is part of Surrey Arts’ new initiative to enhance music education across the county, recognising schools that deliver high-quality musical opportunities to children and the wider community.

As a Lead School, South Farnham will play a central role in shaping and strengthening music education throughout Surrey. Working closely with Surrey Music Hub, other schools and music educators, South Farnham will help ensure that all children have access to enriching and inspiring musical experiences. The school will collaborate on a variety of musical projects and activities, aiming to engage young people and offer support to other schools across the county.

Councillor Denise Turner-Stewart, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Customer and Communities, commented on the appointments:

“Surrey County Council knows that music can play such an important part in a young person's life, supporting wellbeing and nurturing their musical talents. We are pleased to be able to formalise our partnerships with schools through the lead school appointments and look forward to bringing many more music activities to as many young people as possible in Surrey.”

This new role for South Farnham School reflects its dedication to nurturing creativity and musical talent. The Trust looks forward to the opportunities this partnership will bring for pupils, staff and the broader school community.
