Junior School Councillors Head to Parliament

On Friday 22nd March, Great Bookham School's Junior School Councillors were lucky enough to take a very special trip to The Houses of Parliament. They travelled by train, then walked from Waterloo, taking in some of the most famous London landmarks.

The children enjoyed a tour of Westminster Hall, where the Queen lay in state, the House of Commons and the House of Lords. They took part in a workshop where they made their own Bill of Parliament, which they enjoyed debating.

Our local MP, Sir Paul Beresford, popped in and answered lots of questions ranging from cutting down trees to support for neuro-diversity. It was a trip that the children will remember forever.
